2 Easy Ways To Add Twitter To Your Facebook Page

Over the past few months, one question I constantly receive is how you can streamline updates to multiple social platforms.  The main one I have been receiving lately is how do we combine our Twitter account with our Facebook Page?

To be honest I really don’t like sharing how to do this, because I truly believe the two platforms communicate differently and I would hate for you to get lazy in one community and not reap the benefits from truly engaging with people on Facebook and Twitter.

However, I understand we are all busy and the odd combined Tweet and Facebook Status update is not that bad when you have customers calling you and sending you emails about projects you are working on.  Trust me I know. 🙂

So today I am going to show you two easy ways to integrate Twitter with your Facebook Page in under 5 mins.

Here are the two apps you need to make this happen:

It’s the conversation, stupid

Holy smokes, I was just reviewing some of my stats on Twitter and I am approaching 9,000 tweets.  If you were to multiply that by characters, then I would be close to 1 million.  I gotta say I have enjoyed every single tweet and it has been a pleasure to have so many great conversations online and meeet so many amazing people.

Now, I have been tweeting 3 years, 5 months, 2 weeks, 3 days, 22 hours, 55 minutes, 33 seconds (Oct. 17, 2007). No I am not tracking, I just grabbed those stats from How Long Have You Been Tweeting.  If you look at my stats, they aren’t the most amazing stats and there are people who have been on Twitter longer or who have been on Twitter not as long, but have more tweets or followers.  What I am really excited about is the content of the tweets.  If you take a look at my stats, almost 65% of my tweets are replies or RT’s.  Now that is pretty solid, but it can be better.

At the core, this is why I think Twitter works for me.  To steal a line from James Carville and Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign and add a Twitter twist to it – “It’s the conversation, stupid”.

How does Twitter work for you?

3 Ways To Use Twitter Search For Biz

I just started digging into Twitter Search the last few months along with Facebook’s real time search.  Why bother you ask?  Well if you really dig in you can find out some great stuff.  This is where your listening skills come into play on the web.  When you listen to the conversation you can then engage.  Using Twitter Search is a great way to do this and allows you to engage in the conversation with new peeps.

Here are three ways you could use Twitter Search for your business:

  1. Search for new customers:  Lets say you have a wine store or bar in Atlantic Canada and you want to reach out to people who like wine in this area.  Here is a search you could use on Twitter
  2. Search for unhappy customers: Lets say I own a coffee shop and I want to know what people are saying about coffee they don’t like.  Here is a sample search you could use.
  3. Search to extend the conversation:  Lets say you run a campaign or run an ad via traditional means (newspaper, tv, radio) and you want to take that conversation to the next level online.  Well throw a search in Twitter for that information and extend the conversation onto Twitter and/or Facebook.  Gary Vaynerchuk explains this the best on how Doritos missed the boat during their Super Bowl Ad.

There are many other ways to use Twitter Search for your business, but these are some simple ones I see.  If I find a search I really like and want to continue to follow I add it as a saved search in Tweetdeck.

Have you tried this?  If so, how do you use Twitter Search?
